Why 40% of US Doctors Already Work with OpenEvidence
July was a landmark month for our OpenEvidence project: two major partnerships in one week, both of which speak to scale.
On July 9, the company announced the rollout of its clinical AI platform across all hospitals and centers in the NewYork-Presbyterian network, along with Columbia University and Weill Cornell Medicine. Geographic coverage includes New York City and Westchester. In terms of sites and physicians, this is one of the largest corporate clinical AI deployments among US academic health systems (Businesswire).
On July 15, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), representing 67,000 pediatricians, joined the platform. OpenEvidence integrates the Academy's clinical guidelines, policies, and research, including Pediatrics journals and the Red Book. Physicians will receive answers based on authoritative AAP content with links to primary sources.
What's next in line for partners?
The product solves a real problem: approximately 1.5 million new medical articles are published annually, and no clinician can keep up with them. OpenEvidence answers medical questions in a conversational format, drawing on peer-reviewed research and clinical guidelines. According to CNBC, approximately 40% of US physicians use the platform.
The company's financial performance confirms this momentum. In January 2026, the company closed a $250 million Series D at a $12 billion valuation, led by Thrive Capital and DST Global, doubling its valuation in three months. A year earlier, the company was valued at $1 billion. According to The Information, by July, annualized revenue reached approximately $300 million, double the level of six months earlier, and investors were discussing a possible round with the company at a $20 billion valuation.
It's clear that corporate implementations of this scale provide the foundation for further valuation growth leading up to the next round or an IPO.
