Positron AI raised $875 million at a $5 billion valuation - more than a fourfold increase in seven months

Positron has announced a $875 million Series C round at a post-money valuation of $5 billion. The round was led by NEA, Andra Capital, SemiAnalysis Capital, Jim Clark (founder of Silicon Graphics), and others.

*In February, the company closed a $230 million Series B round at a valuation just above $1 billion. *The new round consists of two tranches: $375 million at a $3.5 billion pre-money valuation, and up to $500 million in a second tranche led by NEA and Clark.

The funds will be allocated to the production program. The company’s next chip, Asimov, is scheduled for tape-out in late 2026, with mass production slated for the second half of 2027. Concurrently, production is being prepared for Titan—a system comprising four to eight Asimov chips designed for the largest models.

The first generation is already operational with clients. The company is deploying over 50 Atlas racks within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, and Parasail is building its inference service using this capacity.
